Bill has been with Lanier Upshaw since 1983 and currently serves on the Board of Directors. Bill graduated from Florida State University with a degree in Marketing and Risk Management / Insurance and joined Lanier Upshaw shortly thereafter. He currently holds the Charter Property Casualty Underwriter (CPCU), Certified Insurance Counselor (CIC), and Accredited Adviser in Insurance (AAI) designations.

As a Florida native, Bill is originally from Apopka, Florida. He currently serves on the Board of Directors for the West Central Florida YMCA and is involved with the Central Florida Development Council, the Early Learning Coalition, the Winter Haven Chamber of Commerce, and the East Polk County Committee of 100. Bill also dedicates his time to the Guardian ad Litem program. He lives in Lakeland with his wife Allyson and their two sons.
